Colombian Singer Shakira – La Diva Latina
Famous Latin pop singer Shakira (real name: Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) was born 1977 in Colombia, and since the 1990′s in Latin America, and from 2000 in the United States, has become a major figure in Latin music with oriental style that stands out among other artists.
She is a successful songwriter, musician, record producer, philanthropist, actress, dancer and singer which has attracted the ears and hearts of the millions of young and not so young who enjoy the original music, creative and rebellious.
Her lyrics are original and unusual poetry writing, able to produce rhymes in a unique way that only she knows and turn in their English versions, that began in 2001, succeeded in adapting his own style without language problem.
Her first album in English called “Laundry Service” (Laundry Service) becoming an impressive hit which won the majority of her 10 Grammys so far. The best-known songs from that album “Underneath Your Clothes” (under your clothes) and “Whenever, Wherever” (Suerte) were the most popular. Her music includes Pop has a style with Oriental, Tango, Latin rhythms and other new originals.
Fijacion Oral Vol 1 and 2, was her next album with Alejandro Sanz’s song “La Tortura”, with Wyclef Jean “Hips Don’t Lie” and then with Beyonce “Beautiful Lie” (Beautiful Liar) another great success.
Shakira has a Catalan-Italian ancestry mixed with Lebanese Catholic, which the features a oriental, Latino, has managed to get over his popularity than unlike any other artist.
Shakira wrote her first poem called “La Rosa de Cristal” for four years and continued to write poems that later became songs. At the age of 8 when her brother was killed in a motorcycle accident Shakira wrote her first song called “Your Dark Glasses.”
Her personality is of course expressed in her lyrics and poems and is also politically remains rather controversial opinions as comments “anti-Israel” come out in one radio interview highlighting the Lebanese front in the Middle East conflict.
Her boyfriend, future husband is Antonio de la Rua, son of the previous President of Argentina, who is not exactly loved by the population of Argentina. Superstar Shakira’s latest success story is her superhit “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, along with its Spanish language version, titled “Waka Waka (Esto es Africa)”. This song has received generally positive critical reception, and has become a worldwide hit, for a short time.
